soul dearest, 2017

Das folgende Gedicht ist inspiriert von einem Lyrikgespräch mit dem Titel “Auf ein Wort, Europa“, das mit Iryna Tsilyk aus der Ukraine sowie weiteren Autor*innen auf dem poesiefestival 2017 in Berlin stattfand. Leserichtung: 1. Spalte komplett, dann 2. Spalte.

my soul dear ’s become

soldier ’s when suddenly my

world was at war – why

my soul dear ’s become

soldier and stubbornly my

thoughts were ‘bout war – why

my soul dear ’s become

soldier and literally my

words went to war – why

these soldiers turn ‘gainst

souls dear and words (s)or(e) of mine

wage war on war – why

these soldiers turn to

dead souls while wounded me

war was for words – why

do you ask and what

d’you write?

                                      – why

these soldiers turn to

dead souls while wounded

I weigh word for word – why

our soul dears became

soldiers when suddenly our

world was at war – why

our soul dears became

soldiers and stubbornly our

thoughts were ‘bout war – why

our soul dears became

soldiers and literally our

words went to war – why

these soldiers turn ‘gainst

souls dear and words (s)or(e) of ours

wage wars on wars – why

these soldiers turn to

dead souls while wounded our

wars were for words – why

do you ask and what

d’you write?

                                      – why

these soldiers turn to

dead souls while wounded we

weigh word(s) for word(s) – why

these soldiers turn to

dead souls while wounded we

wave words for(|)ward(en)s – why

do you write and what

d’you ask?
